roaches in the kitchen
Some of you may not know, but i used to do pest control before i became a youth pastor (some say there is not much difference), as i would do my work i would ponder on the things of God. Undoubtedly, as a Christian i would think about the sin that i lived out, and some sins i continually wrestled with was being short, impatient, and selfish. All these sins have two things in common; first they were against God and second they were my responses to others. i would then begin to make the excesses for giving into those sins like; i was just caught off guard, people would sneak up on me ( i was driving a lot in pest control and people were the worst drivers), and i was not prepared for that question. And i realized when i was taken of guard that was the best measure for what sort of man i was. My first response that i would give is the truth of where my heart is. i had no time to put a disguise on the truth. If there are roaches in the kitchen you are most likely to see them if you go in suddenly. The suddenness does not create the roaches; it only prevents them from hiding. In the same way, my response in the heat of the moment does not determine who i am, it only shows who i am. There are roaches in the kitchen, but when we approach loudly, and slowly they will have time to hide.

LIFE UNRESTRICTED
OUR LIVES ARE FULL, TOO FULL. WE HAVE TO LOOK AT WHAT OUR LIVES ARE FULL OF AND THE THINGS WE ALOW INTO OUR LIVES. EVERYTHING WE ALLOW INTO OUR LIVES WILL AFFECT THOSE WE LEAD (IE. OUR TEENS). WE MUST NOT ALOW THINGS OF THE WORLD TO INFECT OUR HEARTS AND MINDS. AS I STRIVE TO BRING CHRIST TO OUR TEENS I ASK MYSELF WHAT WILL BRING THEM INTO A DEEPER RELATIONSHIP WITH FATER GOD? THEN I HAVE TO LOOK AT MY LIFE, WHAT AM I DOING ABOUT MY RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM? LOOK AT YOUR LIFE, DOES IT REFLECT ALL THE WONDERFUL THINGS YOU WANT YOUR TEENS TO LIVE?

UTURN?!
WHAT DO YOU WANT? WERE THE FIRST WORD’S OF JESUS IN THE GOSPEL OF JOHN, AND THAT IS WHAT WE WILL BE ASKING YOUR TEENS (along with many other questions). CHRIST HAS ASKED US TO MAKE DESIPLES, AND THAT IS WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO, i CAN NOT AND WILL NOT DO IT ON mY OWN, BUT BY GOD’S GRACE AND YOUR HELP, WE CAN BEGIN TO TRANSFORM THE HEARTS AND MINDS OF OUR TEENS. AS WE JOURNEY TOGETHER, i WILL USE THIS BLOG TO INFORM, ENCOURAGE, AND COMMUNICATE THE HAPPENINGS OF UTURN.
