It is that time again. School. Our teens love it, and hate it. Please be praying that the influence of this world will fall short. It so many times stifles our teen’s freedom and creativity. i found this saying and i think it fits with what our teens live and feel everyday.

“we the united sheep of america. we will do anything to feel accepted. we follow the crowd, even when the crowd is going nowhere. we embrace its values as our own, even when it has none. we intoxicate ourselves to the point of mindlessness, and give our bodies over to someone else’s pleasure. we spend our lives trying to pursue that which some call success. or we try to follow endless religious traditions that lead us nowhere. we are continually filling ourselves yet we still feel empty because we forget: long ago a man died on a wooden cross, nails through his hands and feet, blood dripping on the ground, in order to release us from the sheep mentality. Love held Him on that cross and cries out to us now. the choice is ours: we embrace Freedom or deny Christ. His truth changes conformity to courage- fear to hope – apathy to love – death to life. 

now is the time. trade in your sheep mentality for freedom. “i have come to give life, and to give it more abundantly.” Jesus”

we have to relase the freedom God gave to us in our teens, we must alow them to be them and embrace the gifts God has given them.

Our next UTURN event will be the Gurlz and Guyz events, the Gurlz event will be on Friday August 10^th from 7pm till 7am Saturday morning (this is for Gurlz only), the men’s camping trip is this weekend so it is a perfect time for the Gurlz of UTURN to have a night together before school starts.

The Guyz of UTURN is also having an overnighter, on Friday August 17 from 7pm until 7am (no Gurlz allowed). Oh what fun!

Please watch for the flyers for both events as we are going to have sign ups for these events.

Also please be praying that we will have some breakthrough in communication with our teens. My hope and desire is that we begin to prepare there hearts and minds for war when they go back to school. i want God to influence there harts and minds and not the world. TRUTH.

We had loads of fun at Ski Buena! If your teen missed out, next year. On my way back home from Buena Vista (i had to go back up the next morning to pick up one of the boats), on my way back we ran out of gas and got a flat tirre ate the same time, oh what fun.

i went to camp with your teens for 5 days, then left (22 hours later) for Mexico with more of your teens to serve the broken and lost. It was a great time, God taught me so much. There is nothing more fulfilling than serving not only your teens, but people that are broken and lost who need not only the basics, but more than that to feel and know the Love of God through Christ. Many of the children in Mexico are hurt, broken, and stuck in poverty. We can help and we will continue to help change the social injustices in this world, let us begin to put our action where our mouth is.
