Underachievement and Overachievement Part 1
There is a “level of Effectiveness” that is defined by the Yerkes-Dodson Law; “which shows a curvilinear relationship between one’s level of arousal and ones level of performance”. In other words; there are three students, the first just does not care, the second cares enough, and is pushed just enough to do well. The third is a student that freaks out and only is concerned about doing overly well, even to the determent of their health. If you look at all three you will see that the second student is the most effective in the long run. Ability, good work habits, and interest in school are three requirements for a health thriving student. If any one or multiple of these requirements are missing it is unhealthy. Also “many educators agree that a failure to apply oneself in school is strong indication of poor self-definition, inferiority, and poor identity development. These are among the root causes of poor achievement.”

His preaching will turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers. Malachi 4:6
